These Website & Practice Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Adrian Harper Naturopathy website and to naturopathic consultations and related services provided by Adrian Harper Naturopathy.
By using this website, booking an appointment or engaging Adrian Harper Naturopathy to provide services, you acknowledge these Terms & Conditions. Where separate consent or practice policies are presented during booking or patient intake, those documents should be read together with these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable Australian legislation.
Naturopathic Services
Adrian Harper Naturopathy provides naturopathic healthcare incorporating approaches that may include nutrition, food as medicine, nutritional medicine, herbal medicine and lifestyle interventions.
Recommendations are individualised according to the clinical information available at the time, which may include your health history, current symptoms, medical diagnoses, pathology and other investigations, medications, supplements, diet and lifestyle.
Naturopathic practitioners are not medical doctors, and naturopathic care does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment where this is required.
Patients are encouraged to maintain appropriate care with their GP, medical specialists and other healthcare professionals. Where appropriate, naturopathic care may be provided collaboratively alongside existing medical and allied healthcare.
Website Information
Information provided on this website is for general educational and informational purposes only.
Website content does not constitute individual medical or naturopathic advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for an individual consultation or assessment by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Information about health conditions, nutrition, herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, pathology, testing or other healthcare topics may not be appropriate for your individual circumstances.
You should not commence, discontinue or substantially modify medical treatment, prescribed medication or other healthcare solely on the basis of information contained on this website.
No Guarantee of Clinical Outcomes
Individual responses to healthcare interventions vary. Outcomes may be influenced by the nature and severity of a health condition, medical treatment, medications, adherence to recommendations, diet, lifestyle and other individual factors.
No particular improvement, recovery, change in pathology, response to treatment or other clinical outcome is guaranteed.
Discussion of potential benefits, treatment objectives or available approaches should be understood in the context of your individual circumstances and does not constitute a guarantee of outcome.
Appointments
Initial naturopathy consultations are currently $275 for 60 minutes.
Standard follow-up consultations are currently $175 for 30–40 minutes.
Fees may change from time to time. The current fee displayed through the applicable booking system or otherwise communicated when booking will apply to the appointment.
Naturopathy consultations are not currently eligible for Medicare rebates. Private health insurance rebates are generally not available for naturopathy consultations. Patients should confirm any potential entitlement directly with their insurer.
Costs associated with pathology, functional testing, herbal medicines, nutritional supplements and other products or services are additional unless expressly stated otherwise.
Telehealth Consultations
Telehealth consultations are available to patients throughout Australia where appropriate.
Patients are responsible for providing accurate contact details and ensuring they have access to an appropriate device, internet or telephone connection and, where reasonably possible, a private environment in which to participate in the consultation.
Technical problems occasionally occur. Where a significant technical problem prevents a consultation from proceeding, an alternative method of communication or rescheduling will be arranged where reasonably practicable.
Telehealth is not appropriate for medical emergencies or circumstances requiring urgent physical examination or medical assessment.
In-Person Consultations
In-person consultations are available through Melbourne Holistic Doctors, 78 Harp Road, Kew VIC 3101.
Appointments provided through Melbourne Holistic Doctors may also be subject to relevant clinic administrative policies and procedures.
Clinical and administrative information associated with these consultations may be recorded within systems used by Melbourne Holistic Doctors as described in the Adrian Harper Naturopathy Privacy Policy.
Cancellations, Rescheduling & Missed Appointments
Adrian Harper Naturopathy has a 48-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment time will generally incur a cancellation fee equal to the full consultation fee. The full consultation fee may also be charged where a patient does not attend a scheduled appointment.
Appointment reminders are generally sent by email approximately three days before an appointment and by SMS approximately two days before an appointment. These reminders are provided as a courtesy.
Responsibility for remembering, attending, cancelling or rescheduling an appointment remains with the patient regardless of whether an appointment reminder is received.
Where exceptional circumstances prevent attendance, please contact the practice as soon as reasonably possible.
Late Attendance
If you arrive late for an appointment, the consultation may need to finish at its originally scheduled time where another patient is booked afterwards.
The normal consultation fee may still apply.
Where there is insufficient time to safely or appropriately address the reason for consultation, another appointment may be recommended.
Payment
Consultation fees are payable at the time of consultation or as otherwise specified during the booking process.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment services, including Stripe and Square.
Payment and personal information handled by these services is also subject to the relevant provider's privacy and security practices. Further information about the handling of personal information is available in the Adrian Harper Naturopathy Privacy Policy.
Pathology & Investigations
Conventional pathology, functional pathology and other investigations may be recommended where clinically appropriate.
Investigations are performed by independent third-party laboratories and are generally privately billed unless otherwise advised. Patients are responsible for laboratory and testing fees charged by the relevant provider.
Some conventional pathology investigations may be available through your GP under Medicare at the GP's clinical discretion and in accordance with applicable Medicare requirements.
Adrian Harper Naturopathy has no financial interest in laboratories to which patients may be referred.
Where practicable, estimated costs can be discussed before testing. Laboratory fees are determined by the relevant provider and may change without notice, particularly where testing is performed internationally. Patients should confirm current costs with the laboratory where cost is a consideration.
You are under no obligation to undertake optional functional testing. Where multiple investigations are being considered, their relative clinical priority can be discussed, including whether appropriate conventional investigations could first be undertaken through your GP or medical specialist.
Test results are interpreted within the broader clinical context. No individual functional or conventional pathology result should necessarily be regarded as establishing the cause of a complex health presentation in isolation.
Herbal & Nutritional Medicines
Treatment recommendations may include herbal medicines, nutritional supplements or other complementary medicines where clinically appropriate.
Products may be dispensed directly through the practice or through professional dispensing services used by Adrian Harper Naturopathy. Products are selected according to factors including formulation, quality, clinical suitability and individual therapeutic requirements.
Patients are under no obligation to purchase products through Adrian Harper Naturopathy or a nominated dispensing service and may choose to obtain products elsewhere.
However, formulations, ingredients, concentrations, manufacturing standards and quality can differ between products. Adrian Harper Naturopathy cannot verify the composition, quality or suitability of an alternative product that has not been reviewed. Patients are therefore encouraged to confirm proposed substitutions before replacing a specifically prescribed product.
The cost of herbal medicines and nutritional supplements is additional to consultation fees unless otherwise stated.
Safety, Medications & Changes in Health
Herbal medicines, nutritional supplements and dietary interventions may not be appropriate for every individual and may interact with medications, medical conditions or other treatments.
Patients are responsible for providing accurate and reasonably complete information about their health, including relevant:
diagnoses and medical history;
medications and changes to medication;
nutritional supplements and herbal medicines;
allergies, intolerances and adverse reactions;
pregnancy or breastfeeding where relevant;
pathology and investigation results; and
significant changes in health or medical treatment.
You should notify Adrian Harper Naturopathy of suspected adverse reactions to a recommended treatment.
Serious, rapidly worsening or otherwise urgent symptoms should be medically assessed rather than managed through routine email communication or by waiting for a naturopathic appointment.
Prescribed Medications & Medical Treatment
Patients should not discontinue or alter prescribed medication or medically recommended treatment solely on the basis of general information provided through this website.
Naturopathic care may be provided alongside conventional medical treatment. Where a proposed naturopathic intervention has potential relevance to prescribed medication or medical management, consultation or communication with the prescribing practitioner may be recommended.
Communication Between Consultations
Email, telephone and other electronic communications may be used for administrative matters and reasonable communication relating to an existing treatment plan.
Email is not intended for medical emergencies or for comprehensive assessment of significant new symptoms, complex changes in a health condition or matters requiring substantial clinical review.
Where an enquiry requires clinical assessment, review of significant new information or substantial modification of treatment, you may be asked to book an appropriate consultation.
Response times to non-urgent communications cannot be guaranteed.
AI-Assisted Clinical Documentation
AI-assisted clinical documentation software, including Heidi Health, may be used during consultations to assist with clinical note-taking and preparation of clinical documentation.
AI-assisted documentation is used as a documentation aid and does not replace professional clinical judgement.
Information discussed during a consultation may be processed by the relevant AI-assisted documentation service for this purpose. The resulting clinical documentation is reviewed as appropriate before forming part of the clinical record.
Patients may decline the use of AI-assisted clinical documentation. If you do not consent to its use, please advise Adrian before or at the commencement of your consultation. Declining AI-assisted documentation will not prevent you from receiving naturopathic care.
Further information about the handling of personal and health information is provided in the Adrian Harper Naturopathy Privacy Policy.
Collaborative Care & Communication With Other Practitioners
Where appropriate and with your consent, Adrian Harper Naturopathy may communicate with healthcare professionals involved in your care, including your GP, nephrologist, medical specialists, allied health practitioners and other healthcare providers.
Relevant clinical information may be exchanged where reasonably necessary to facilitate coordinated healthcare.
Referral for medical assessment or specialist care may be recommended where a presentation falls outside the scope of naturopathic practice, requires further investigation or would benefit from additional professional involvement.
Patient Consent & Participation in Care
Patients are encouraged to participate actively in decisions regarding their care and to ask questions about recommendations, investigations or treatments.
You may decline a recommended investigation, product or naturopathic intervention and may withdraw consent to naturopathic care at any time.
Where declining or discontinuing a recommendation may have implications for the proposed treatment plan, these can be discussed with you.
Separate consent and privacy acknowledgements may be obtained as part of the patient intake and consultation process.
Privacy & Clinical Records
A clinical record is maintained in connection with healthcare services provided by Adrian Harper Naturopathy.
Personal and health information is collected, used, stored and disclosed in accordance with applicable privacy and health-records requirements and the Adrian Harper Naturopathy Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy contains further information about clinical records, third-party systems, payment processors, access and correction of records, privacy complaints and other information-handling practices.
Refunds & Consumer Rights
Consultation fees relate to professional healthcare services and time provided rather than achievement of a particular clinical outcome.
Requests concerning refunds, service concerns or other consumer matters will be considered in accordance with applicable Australian law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation where it would be unlawful to do so.
Medical Emergencies
Adrian Harper Naturopathy does not provide an emergency medical service.
The website, email, SMS, Telehealth and routine practice communication channels should not be used to obtain assistance for a medical emergency.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency or serious or rapidly worsening symptoms, seek appropriate urgent medical care.

Unless otherwise stated, original website content, written resources, treatment materials, handouts, graphics, branding and other materials produced by Adrian Harper Naturopathy are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify liability, consumer guarantees or other rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under Australian law.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes in services, practice policies, fees, technology or applicable legal requirements.
