NATUROPATHY

Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness encompassing the mental, emotional and physical states. The core principle of naturopathy is the body's inherent ability to heal itself given appropriate support and conditions.

Guided by the two tenets of naturopathy, holism and vitalism, Adrian seeks to establish a collaborative relationship with you to understand your health history and expectations. Drawing on both evidence-based medicine and traditional practice, including herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, homoeopathy and flower essence therapy, Adrian will design a treatment plan specific to your individual needs.

Committed to knowledge sharing and your empowerment to attain increased responsibility and control for your health outcomes, through a lifestyle that promotes and maximizes your wellbeing, Adrian's practice specialities include:

Clinical Nutrition and Food as Medicine

Nutrition is the foundation of health as it supplies the body with both the required structural elements and the fuel for functioning. Nutritional status is ascertained via diet assessment, tongue and nail signs, and through pathology testing.

The food we eat is responsible for the nutrients we receive. In some circumstances nutritional status can be altered using food as medicine. Food counseling can provide you with knowledge that enables you to make better choices and improve wellness. Correction of nutrient deficiencies can be made through diet modification and/or supplementation.

Nutritional supplements are prescribed based on current clinical evidence. Practitioner-only products are used, to assure you receive high-grade products, produced under stringent manufacturing techniques and quality controls.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicines are derived from plants and plant extracts. Practitioner-only herbs are prescribed drawing upon a synergy of clinical evidence and traditional knowledge in the treatment of disorders and maintenance of good health. Herbal liquid extracts allow individualized prescriptions blended for specific individual needs. Preparations of herbal tablets and teas may also be used to improve and sustain health and well-being.

Homoeopathy

Homoeopathy is a therapeutic system that uses low-dose preparations to initiate the body's natural healing response. Presenting symptoms are matched to specific remedies that elicit the same pattern of symptoms when given in a large dose to a healthy individual. For example, if we drink too much coffee it can cause insomnia, restlessness and anxiety - an individual presenting with these symptoms may be given a homoeopathic dose of coffee to resolve the condition.

Lifestyle Counselling

Lifestyle counselling is a key element of the naturopathic treatment approach as it empowers individuals to take greater control of their own health. Simple modifications to the way we live can contribute greatly to our wellness and reduce the need for additional therapies.

Flower Essence Therapy

Australian bush flower essences are prepared from native flowers that specifically target the emotions. Flower essence therapy may be used to treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia and stress.
